Elderly care overhaul set for next step

The next step in Midlothian Council’s transformation of the care and support available to older people in the county has been announced.

Midlothian’s Joint Older People’s Strategy 2011-15 will be launched at Loanhead Miners Club on Friday.

Speakers from the Midlothian Community Health Partnership and the council will introduce the new strategy and invite people to be involved as it continues to develop.

The new strategy builds on the previous 2007-10 version, which saw radical improvements to care and support services in response to consultation with older people.
