He drove along pavements in Uphall, West Lothian, sped through a busy children’s play park and rejoined the road 300 metres from a primary school.
His partner, Caroline Whitton, who was in the back of the van, fell and injured her head during the terrifying trip, Livingston Sheriff Court heard.

The driver of a council bin lorry needed treatment for multiple lacerations after the van hit his wing mirror and smashed his window, showering him with glass.

Kerr, 43, from Whitburn, West Lothian, pleaded guilty yesterday to dangerous driving, and driving while disqualified without insurance.

He was sentenced to eight months in prison and banned from driving for a further three years.
