EH1 is the worst postcode for car break-ins

A CITY postcode has been named as the top area in Scotland for car break-ins.

The EH1 area was where cars had the highest chance of being targeted, according to insurance industry statistics.

The league tables of car thefts and break-ins are based on an analysis of two million theft reports submitted last year to insurance firm Admiral.

It says its figures indicate that high-value cars are being taken by professional criminals who steal to order.

Admiral managing director Sue Longthorn: "You might think motorists in less salubrious areas are most likely to have their car stolen but that's not the case."
