Houston, from Glasgow, made no plea or declaration when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday and was released on bail.

His arrest was not being linked to the death of Regane MacColl, 17, who died after taking a mortal kombat tablet at Glasgow nightspot The Arches on Saturday February 1.

Miss MacColl, from Clydebank in West Dunbartonshire, was a pupil at the town’s St Peter the Apostle High School.

Police in the west of Scotland have made three Ecstasy seizures and arrested seven people since February 2 but say they are not currently being linked to her death.
