Jaime Fitzgerald, of the Edinburgh Chiapas Solidarity Group, has just returned from Chiapas, Mexico.

He said: “I visited a village called San Marcos Avile. The local indigenous people had set up their own autonomous school. They told me how the supporters of the political parties then attacked them and drove them out of their homes.”

The meeting is being held today in the Quaker Meeting House in Victoria Terrace at 2pm.
