Edinburgh bands vie for place at world cup

SIX capital bands are in the running to play in front of thousands of spectators at this year's Mountain Bike World Cup.

The bands dominate the line-up of eight acts taking part in a battle of the bands competition to win a gig at the event, which will be held at Fort William on 5 and 6 June. Members of the public can vote online to choose which band they want to see play on the main stage at the contest, at the Nevis Range Ski Centre.

The competition is run by music promoters Leith Records.

The Capital bands on the shortlist are Epic 26, 10:04s, The Fire and I, Ordinary Allstars, Dirty Modern Hero, and Jakil. To vote, visit www.leith records.com/downhill
