EasyJet passenger numbers take off

LOW-FARE airline easyJet enjoyed a big rise in passenger numbers last month.

The no-frills carrier carried 5.42 million people in July 2011 - an 8.1 per cent increase on its July 2010 total. A total of 53.76 million passengers flew with the airline in the 12 months ending in July.
