Easterhouse named as one of '˜the worst places to live in UK'

The dubious honour of “the absolute worst place to live” appeared to go to the English town of Luton which was widely slammed on the social network thread.
The discussion thread which is titled: “What is the absolute worst place to live in the UK”, has had almost 700 comments in just 24 hours with the majority of users slamming the satellite town situated to the north of London.

Located in Glasgow’s east end, estimates of male and female life expectancy in Easterhouse are much lower than national averages according to the Glasgow Indicator Project and the area is often mentioned in the media as a byword for poverty and inequality in Scotland.
Some Reddit users were sympathetic towards Easterhouse, with one user saying “Isn’t Easterhouse where IDS (Iain Duncan Smith) had his epiphany on how to screw up the welfare state?”
While another described it as “grim, at best.”
Users were less restrained when discussing Luton, as various posters called it “ the town at the end of humanity” and a “s*******”.
Another thread about the best places in the UK was set up shortly afterwards with the Isle of Skye among the top answers.
