East Seniors agree on a new set-up

THE East of Scotland League will retain two divisions following a vote at an egm last night.

The structure of the league was in doubt following the formation of the new Lowland League which EoS regulars 
Edinburgh City, Spartans, Whitehill Welfare and Preston Athletic opted to join as part of a new football pyramid.

However, City and Spartans have entered second teams into the EoS, along with Stirling University, to make 21 clubs, allowing for a Premier Division of ten clubs and a First Division of 11.

League chairperson Tom 
Allison said: “Although members of clubs have joined the Lowland League this does not mean that they should not play in our league. It’s the club that is a member and not the team.”

Hibs will field a team in the First Division, to allow youngsters and senior players returning from injury competitive game time.

Premier Division: Civil Service Strollers; Coldstream; Craigroyston; Edinburgh City; Edinburgh University; Heriot-Watt Uni; Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale; Spartans; Stirling Uni; Tynecastle.

First Division: Berwick Rangers; Burntisland Shipyard; Duns; Easthouses Lily; Eyemouth Utd; Kelso Utd; Leith Ath; Ormiston; Peebles Rovers; Hawick RA; Hibernian.
