East Ayrshire bedroom fire leaves woman dead

A 58-year-old woman has died after a fire broke out at her home.

Emergency services were called to the house in Belvedere View in Galston, East Ayrshire at 8.30am to find an upstairs bedroom on fire.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze, but the woman died at the scene.

She was the only person in the house.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
