Earthquake shakes Mexico's Gulf coast

A MAGNITUDE-5.7 earthquake shook Mexico's Gulf coast yesterday.

The US Geological Survey said the quake, which happened in the early hours of the morning, was centred near the town of Acayucan in Veracruz state, about 117 miles southeast of the port of Veracruz. It was felt even in Mexico City, 292 miles to the northwest. There were no reports of injuries.
