DWP jobs 'will stay in Britain'

EMPLOYMENT minister Chris Grayling has pledged that the Department for Work and Pensions will not move any department call-centre posts overseas.

Mr Grayling told MPs that "British-based staff are the best contact centre staff".

His comments came as shadow business minister Chi Onwurah sought reassurances on jobs under threat from being moved.

Mr Grayling said: "We will not offshore any DWP jobs. I share concerns regarding work being done offshore by suppliers. Many of the department's sub-contractors began using some offshore staff under the previous government."
