Dundee pensioner killed in house fire named by police

A PENSIONER who died in a fire in his Dundee home was today named by police.

Robert Latto was killed when a blaze broke out in the property in Kinghorne Road, Dundee, on Saturday.

The 87-year-old died in Ninewells Hospital in the city after he was rescued from the house.

Firefighters were called to the scene at about 2.25pm on Saturday.

They said the fire was extinguished quickly.

Tayside Police and Tayside Fire and Rescue are investigating the fire, but police said the "indications at this stage are that the fire is not suspicious".

A report will be made to the Procurator Fiscal.
