Ducks badly injured by illegal traps

Two ducks had to be put down after being caught by illegal traps set at a Perthshire pond.

Scottish SPCA inspectors were called to Davie Park in Blairgowrie to rescue the ducks after their legs were badly cut by the traps. Chief Inspector Brian Cowing said: "The duck's legs had almost been completely severed and sadly the birds had to be put to sleep."
