Drumbrae is winner for
care home

A NEW council care home has been named following a vote from residents, staff and members of the community.

The 60-bed home, described by the council as “state of the art”, will be called Drumbrae House. It is being built off Ardshiel Avenue and is due to open in spring, replacing two of the council’s homes – Clermiston House and the Tower.

City health leader, Ricky Henderson, pictured, said: “The name fits in perfectly with the history of the area, and I’m sure that the community will give a warm welcome to residents and staff.

“This new care home will give residents the opportunity to stay in accommodation which is more suitable to their needs and gives them a better standard of living.”
