Drug mules jailed

TWO men who were caught transporting drugs when their car was pulled over for a traffic violation have been sent to prison.

Police stopped 61-year-old Walter Paterson and Scott Westell, 36, as they pulled out of the Premier Inn hotel car park in Livingston.

They were then stunned to smell the drugs as they spoke to Paterson about his driving.

A search warrant was then obtained for Westell’s home in Pumpherston, where cannabis worth £500,000 was seized.

He was sentenced to 32 months in jail, while Paterson, from Kilsyth, received 27 months.
