Drug dealer forced to give up £10k

A DRUG dealer who was jailed for running a cannabis farm has been forced to surrender £10,000 under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Scott Swan was arrested following a police swoop on his Newtongrange home in July 2011.

Officers recovered cannabis plants, fans, heaters, and lights in the attic area of the
Midlothian property.

The 37-year-old was sentenced to ten months in February last year after pleading guilty to producing cannabis.

Lindsey Miller, head of the Crown’s Serious and Organised Crime Division, said: “This confiscation order for £10,000 represents his illegitimate gains, as assessed by our
forensic accountants.”

The confiscation order was made against Swan at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday.
