Drug courier denies sex motive for his evidence

A DRUGS courier denied yesterday that he wanted to put another man in jail to keep him away from his wife.

A court heard that Alexander Fobister and his wife Grace had attended "swingers' parties" and she had sex with William Pierrepont.

Fobister, 40, of Boswall Avenue, Edinburgh, is facing a prison sentence after being caught with a 100,000 consignment of heroin.

Pierrepont, 41, of Burnbrae Road, Bonnyrigg, Midlothian, has denied being involved, but Fobister was called as a prosecution witness at his trial and claimed he had collected the package for Pierrepont.

His evidence was challenged by Pierrepont's counsel, Michael Anderson, who suggested that because of concern about his wife, Fobister wanted Pierrepont also to be jailed.

Fobister responded: "We all had sexual fun as consenting adults, but there was nothing else involved whatsoever."

Pierrepont denies being concerned in the supplying of heroin on 16 July last year.

The trial continues.
