Driver wins injury claim

A JOINER has been awarded nearly £3000 in damages after he was hurt in a car crash.

Craig Montgomery, 41, was injured when his vehicle was struck on Salters Road in Dalkeith on July 22, 2009.

Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard that he had suffered a "soft tissue injury of his right shoulder and muscular spasm of the lumber region".

Sheriff Kathrine Mackie, in deciding the liability of Direct Line Insurance, who had insured the driver who caused the crash, ruled that a sum of 2675 plus interest, as well as another 125, should be made.
