Driver killed in horror crash

A DRIVER was killed yesterday in a horrific crash between a car and lorry on a rural road in Aberdeenshire.

The motorist was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on the B9170 Oldmeldrum to Inverurie road, near Barra Castle, after his car was wedged beneath the lorry.

The road was closed for several hours.
