Driver injures back in crash

A MAN is recovering in hospital after suffering a spinal injury in a car crash.

The 36-year-old was travelling in Duddingston Park South when his vehicle was struck from behind at 12.30pm yesterday.

The casualty was rescued by Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service.

He was removed from the car using cutting equipment and a spinal board and was then taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary suffering from spinal injuries.
