Driver injured after van hits lamppost on A702 at West Linton

The driver of a van has been taken to hospital after he crashed into a lamppost before coming to a stop within the garden of a property in West Linton.

The incident took place at around 5am on the A702 at Dolpinton Road.

Police and emergency services are currently at the scene and the driver was taken to hospital for treatment to an arm injury.

It’s understood there is no damage to the property.

A road closure will be in place until the van is recovered and motorists are advised to expect delays.

A Police Scotland spokesman said the driver has been charged with a road traffic offence.
