Driver badly hurt in crash

A MAN is in a serious condition in hospital after a head-on smash between a car and a truck on the A7.

The driver of the Renault Clio was left trapped in the vehicle following the collision at 7.40am yesterday. Fire crews raced to the scene while police shut off the A7 at Middleton Mains in Midlothian.
