Drinkers cheer online offsales

EAST Anglians top the list when it comes to buying online supermarket alcohol, spending 25 per cent more than the national average.

Data from comparison website mySupermarket.co.uk, puts the average annual spend on bottles in the virtual aisle at 381.55 for households in East Anglia.

The Welsh are the most reserved, with a yearly family spend of 276.22, 10 per cent lower that the national average.

Yorkshiremen and women were found to be the second biggest spenders when it came to online supermarket alcohol.

They spend 371.60 a year per household, according to mySupermarket.co.uk's figures.
