'Drink driver' had kids in car

A MAN who had his four children in the car while allegedly two-and-a-half times over the limit alcohol limit was among the Lothian motorists caught during a crackdown on drink and drug-driving during the festive holidays.

Officers said they saw the vehicle moving erratically in Dunbar, East Lothian, on Christmas Eve and stopped the 42-year-old driver, who had his children, aged four, five, nine and ten as passengers.

Across Scotland. 426 motorists were allegedly caught driving while drunk and another 25 were accused of driving under the influence of drugs.
