Dram good price for malt

A RARE malt whisky from a distillery which closed more than 70 years ago is set to fetch up to £10,000 at an auction in the Capital next month.

The Glamis 10-year-old 20th century single malt was distilled and bottled by The Glenfyne Distillery Co Ltd on Ardrishaig.

The distillery operated for more than 100 years before it closed in 1937, and the bottle was imported into the USA by Greig, Lawrence & Hoyt Limited, of New York.

It is the star item in Bonhams' whisky sale in Edinburgh on November 17.
