Dr Bunhead strings along his audience

DR Bunhead was all tangled up in glowsticks at the Usher hall yesterday, along with some of the 100 children who helped break the world record for the longest ever glowstick necklace.

Roderick and Duncan Graham, and Alex and Samantha Tate were among those who turned out for the challenge, held as part of this year's Edinburgh International Science Festival.

Popular scientist Dr Bunhead, who already holds the Guinness World Record for the most number of potatoes fired from a spud cannon in three minutes, got members of the audience to help string along one giant necklace more than 300 metres long of specially-created tubing filled with luminescent liquid.
