Donald Trump golf course set for new season

DONALD Trump’s championship links in Aberdeenshire are to open for a new season of play next Thursday, it was announced today.

The Menie course opened for the first time last July when the American billionaire struck the first ball on his multi-million pound golf resort in a match with former Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie.

Trump International Golf Links Scotland said today that the championship links would open for its first full playing season on Thursday, 11 April .

A spokeswoman for the Trump organisation continued: “To start this year’s golf season, leading golf brands, including Taylor Made, Titleist, Callaway, Vega and Trackman, will come together to showcase the latest golf products and provide a free custom fitting service for golfers of all levels and abilities.

“To mark the first day of the season, Trump International’s 22 acre, two-tiered driving range, will be free of charge for all visitors wearing suitable golfing attire. Trump’s golf professionals and operations team will be available throughout the day to provide advice and tours.”

She added: “To celebrate the launch of the season, the first player to achieve a hole in one off the stated tee on the 13th hole of the championship course will win a new Audi car.”

Sarah Malone, the executive vice president of TIGLS, said: “We very much look forward to opening next week and have a wide range of new services and products on offer this season. Visitors on opening day will have the opportunity to tour the course, use the practice facilities, enjoy some Trump hospitality and meet the team. This is our first full playing season and it promises to be another exceptional year.”

A 20 per cent reduction on Green Fee rates is again being made available for Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire residents with proof of residence.
