Dog walker, 65, victim of hit-and-run

A DOG walker was the victim of a hit-and-run, police said yesterday. The 65-year-old man suffered head injuries when he was knocked down in Pollok, Glasgow, on Tuesday.

He was walking his pet along Cornaig Road with two members of his family at around 5pm when a car mounted the pavement and hit him from behind.

The car, thought to be a silver Mercedes, failed to stop and turned left on to Leithland Road. The man was treated at the Southern General hospital before being released.

PC Kristopher Hazlett said: "This was a terrifying ordeal for the man and his family. I am appealing to anyone who was in the Cornaig Road area on Tuesday to contact me."
