Dog rescued after two-day quarry ordeal
The couple eventually tracked down their missing terrier to a series of rabbit warrens, a place where she liked to run around, and called in the firefighters.
Fire crews feared the tunnel would collapse on the animal and had to work carefully to dig her out from under the sand bank. Luckily, the black and tan Lakeland terrier was none the worse for wear when she emerged into the light and shook the sand from her fur.
A relieved Mr Mullins, 34, said that it had been a horrible experience, but he was glad Roxi was back in one piece.
