Dog owner appeals for pet's return

A DOG owner is appealing for help in tracing her springer spaniel after it vanished from Yellowcraig Beach.

Pattie Bell was walking Bertie when he ran off into the thicket bushes on the way to the car park last Saturday.

Mrs Bell spent hours searching for the two-and-a-half-year-old dog, before returning in the days that followed to scour the area again.

Local dogwalkers have also been searching the woods nearby in an attempt to find Bertie.

He is mainly white with two large brown spots on his back, and a long tail.

Mrs Bell, from Stockbridge, believes that the dog, who was still attached to his lead, may have been stolen, and is offering a reward for his safe return.

She said: "We are pretty distraught and would ask anyone who has seen Bertie to get in touch with us on 0131-315 2299."
