Dog fouling gripes rise

WEST Lothian Council has reported a considerable rise in the number of dog fouling and litter-related complaints since the recent thaw.

The local authority's street cleansing teams said there had been a "large increase" in the number of dog fouling and litter-related issues being reported.

A spokesman for the council said: "During the heavy snowfall, routine litter collections were suspended and street cleansing teams were diverted. Teams are now back working in their respective areas and responding to customers' requests."
