Dog creche plans given green light

TWO entrepreneurs who featured on Dragons' Den for their Edinburgh "dog creche" business have been given consent to build on the green belt.

Businesswomen Sandy Maxwell-Forbes and Sarah McLean, who failed in a bid to secure 75,000 from the BBC business show, had erected temporary all-weather shelters at their Colinton-based Citidogs business without having planning consent in place.

Their part-retrospective planning application has now been approved by city planners.

They had been ordered to submit the retrospective application after they received a complaint about the development on Woodhall Road.

The idea behind the business is to improve on the dog walking services already on offer by picking up the dogs from their owners then giving them a full day of attention and games on the edge of the city and at the foot of the Pentland Hills.
