Dog course takes lead

A DOG training course aimed at teaching pets to leave livestock alone is being held later this month.

Run by Peter Gregory, the two-and-a-half-hour session takes place on the Pentland Hills and involves some basic training before the dogs, under close supervision, are walked near to the sheep.

Police this week announced plans to patrol the Pentlands on quad bikes to protect sheep during the lambing season.

The course runs next Saturday from 9.30am to noon.
