Doddie's latest role is an arresting sight

FORMER Scottish rugby international Doddie Weir is set to be among those attending an open day at Dalkeith police station.

The former second row is to hold a rugby masterclass at Saturday's event, which runs from 11am to 3pm. Aside from a range of information stalls, people will also be able to visit the cells complex or have their fingerprints taken.

Among the other attractions will be archery, beat the goalie, face painting, and a barbecue in aid of Riding for the Disabled.

Sergeant Gail Simpson said: "The open day is a great opportunity for families to experience the station."
