Doctor won't be hampered by food funds

A CITY doctor limbering up for a record-breaking trek from Scotland to the Sahara is plugging a "running" food hamper to help with his fundraising efforts.

Dr Andrew Murray is hoping he will be able to bring in around 100,000 from his 2685-mile expedition, with the money being used to help improve medical services and schooling for some of the most disadvantaged children in the Gobi desert.

The food hamper, which costs 29.50 to buy, has been put together by www.delimann .co.uk and is crammed with products from the UK, Spain, Morocco and elsewhere.

4 from each hamper sold will be donated to Dr Murray's chosen charity, Yamaa Trust.

Dr Murray is set to begin his colossal ultra-marathon on November 7.

Dr Murray said: "I've had a lot of fun putting this hamper together.

"It's great nutritious food but incredibly tasty, too."

He added: "Although you won't be able to feel my pain you can have a taste of my experience."
