Doctor 'embellished CV to get job'

A DOCTOR accused of dishonestly claiming on his CV to have contributed to six academic publications has admitted recreating key evidence that he presented as original documents.

David Clark allegedly embellished his CV to "make himself a more impressive candidate" for a post at Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire.

The Oxford-educated doctor told a General Medical Council panel the CV was the result of a copy-and-paste "mistake".

He admitted yesterday that evidence of the lists of reference papers with his name attached that he had presented as the original material had, in fact, been recreated for the GMC hearing.

Dr Clark resigned from the Ayrshire and Arran NHS Trust and is currently employed at the Dumfries and Galloway NHS Trust.
