Disclosure plan set to go live

A CONTROVERSIAL new disclosure scheme to improve the protection of Scotland's most vulnerable groups is to go live on 28 February.

Children's minister Adam Ingram made the announcement after the scheme was delayed.

Critics warn it will be expensive and could put school trips at risk as fewer parents will be able to help out.

The Protecting Vulnerable Groups scheme had been due to commence at the end of November, but ministers took the decision to postpone its introduction to ensure the new IT system which supports it is fully fit for purpose and as robust as it can be.
