Disabled workers in dispute over jobs

Workers at 57 Remploy factories, which employ mainly disabled staff, are to be balloted on industrial action in a dispute over planned redundancies.

The GMB union said 85 per cent of Remploy workers who lost their jobs when 29 of the firm's factories closed in 2008 were still unemployed.
