Disabled put art on show

A DISPLAY of artwork created by disabled people in Edinburgh has been unveiled at a city gallery.

The project by Capital charity ECAS and the Scottish National Gallery will run until the end of January.

It was led by contemporary artist Elaine Anderson, and aimed at encouraging people with disabilities to learn the skill of painting, both to express their emotions and develop a fresh interest.

The Portrait Triptychs event also helped the charity promote equal opportunities for its members, chief executive David Griffiths said.

He added: “It showcases the results of a recent collaboration between the National Galleries of Scotland and ECAS. It comprises artworks made in a series of workshops which explored the theme of portraiture.”
