Disabled base wins go-ahead

A CENTRE for people will learning disabilities is to be built in Livingston.

The 3 million Craigshill Learning Disabilities Centre in Livingston has been granted planning permission by West Lothian Council.

The purpose-built facility will cater for up to 110 people, providing structured day care, day respite, a specialist eight-place severe autistic spectrum unit and a behavioural therapy centre.

The design will reflect a "bold, positive and inclusive vision of disability" and include up-to-date facilities. It will open in 2010.
