Director Loach answers questions on film

ACCLAIMED filmmaker Ken Loach is to meet audiences in the Capital as he promotes his latest movie, Route Irish.

The director, who made such well-loved films as Kes and My Name Is Joe, will take part in a question and answer session following a screening of the movie at the Cameo later this month.

Route Irish is a drama set in Liverpool which follows the story of a violent ex-army security contractor, played by Mark Womack, trying to unravel the mystery of an old friend's death after his return from Iraq.

The film was screened in the main competition at Cannes last year, to strong reviews.

The movie, shot in the director's distinguished realist style, follows his 2009 comedy drama Looking For Eric.

Loach will be appearing at the Cameo on Wednesday, March 16, at 6.30pm, his only Scottish stop on a short promotional tour for the film.
