Director focuses on film at city screening

FILMmaker and critic Mark Cousins is to take part in a question and answer session in the Capital following the screening of his film The First Movie.

The documentary followed Cousins as he travelled to Iraq to screen children's films for local youngsters, to give them some relief from their war-torn lives.

He also gave the children cameras to record their lives, and their thoughts on the movies he chose. And as part of the screening, at the Cameo cinema, audience members are being asked to pick up a camera and tell their own story in ten photos, each with a caption.

The most inspiring will be posted online, while the three best will be screened at Picturehouse Cinemas across the UK.

The event is being held at the Cameo cinema on October 17, starting at 6pm.
