Digital media guru to guest at Kirk science conference

A GOVERNMENT guru on digital media will be a guest speaker at a conference on Saturday to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Church of Scotland's Society, Religion and Technology project.

Dr David Pullinger was director of the project in the 1980s and went on to play a leading part in the introduction of electronic publishing before taking up his present role. He will give an address on "Info-technology and the citizen".

The Church set up the SRT project in 1970 to help the church engage constructively with the scientific community both in Scotland and overseas.

And the event will be chaired by yet another former director, Professor Howard Davis.
