'Despicable' gang steal OAP's life savings

Police are hunting three men who posed as workers to enter a pensioner's home and steal his life savings.

The men, who said they wanted to check the water at the 87-year-old man's house, stole the "large sum of money", thought to be more than 10,000.

One of the men showed the pensioner identification and spoke to him while the other two searched for money from the house in the Greenhill Crescent area of Linwood, near Paisley, on Thursday afternoon.
