'Desperate' plea to find uncle of tragic Jack

THE family of a man who disappeared five days after his nephew was found dead said yesterday they were "desperate" for news of him.

Colin Ferguson, 46, has not been seen since 11 May, when he went with other family members to lay flowers at a shrine for Jack Frew.

The body of 16-year-old Jack was found near a cycle path in the Mossneuk area of East Kilbride on election night, 6 May.

Craig Roy, 17, was charged with his murder at Hamilton Sheriff Court on 10 May.

He was released on bail following another court appearance earlier this week.

Police launched a major search for Mr Ferguson, but they have found no trace of him.

He was last seen entering the home he shares with his mother in Owen Avenue, East Kilbride, at about 2:30pm on 11 May.

His nieces, Lorraine Fleming, 31, and Michelle Ferguson, 23, appealed for Mr Ferguson, or anyone who knows where he is, to contact the family or police.

In a statement issued through Strathclyde Police, they said: "It has been a very stressful couple of weeks for our family and we have been pulling together to support each other through these tough times.

"Get in touch with someone, Colin – we miss you."
