Designer outlet in fashion

DESIGNER outlet McArthur Glen has reported record post-Christmas sales at its Livingston store.

Total sales between December 26 and January 2 were up 25 per cent on last year, with like-for-like sales increasing 38 per cent and footfall up nine per cent.

The company attributed the increase to more people receiving Christmas gifts of cash or vouchers as a result of the bad pre-Christmas weather and people trying to avoid the VAT rise. Thursday, December 30 was the peak day.
