Derek Riordan becomes doting dad

HIBS star Derek Riordan has become a dad for the first time.

The 27-year-old's girlfriend gave birth to baby daughter Ruby yesterday.

It is understood the striker was with girlfriend Susannah Robinson when she gave birth at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

A friend reportedly said: "Deek's over the moon. He's determined to do his best by Ruby and wants to be the model father. He might not be wetting the baby's head in town but he'll be having a few drinks with pals."

Riordan returned to Hibs in 2008 after a spell playing at Celtic from 2006 and has never been far from the headlines since returning to Edinburgh, including being banned from every nightclub and pub in the Capital covered by the Unight scheme.
