Demonstrations over nuclear power

ACTIVISTS gathered in central Madrid yesterday to protest the use of nuclear power in response to fears that reactors in Japan are causing serious radioactive contamination.

Organised by Ecologists in Action, the protesters unfurled a large nuclear symbol and banners reading: "No to Nuclear Power" outside the Reina Sofia Museum, one of the capital city's landmark tourist attractions.
