Dementia report hailed

A DEMENTIA charity has welcomed a report which it says will improve the level of care for the illness.

But city-based Alzheimer Scotland warned there was still much work to be done to bring the quality of service for thousands of patients up to standard.

Decisions for Dignity was launched yesterday by the Mental Welfare Commission.

Chief executive Henry Simmons said: "While we acknowledge that progress is being made, we are dismayed some individuals are still being prescribed powerful psychoactive medication without the proper use of their only legal protection."
